We imagine an Ireland where human activity, creativity and ingenuity are not monetised for profit but set free to further the betterment of humanity in the spheres of education, healthcare, innovation and social development.
We affirm an Ireland where wealth and prosperity are measured in terms of healthy and fulfilling lives for all, rather than hefty bank accounts for the few.
We call for an Ireland where people are freed from the time and financial pressures that thwart human interaction and enabled instead to thrive in loving and caring relationships; an Ireland where solidarity replaces individualism as the raison d’etre of social existence.
We look forward to an Ireland known internationally not for its tax haven status, extremes of wealth and poverty, apartheid healthcare, housing and education systems, regressive abortion laws and exclusive political systems, but for its just taxation, high resource equality, healthy hospitals, homes and schools for all, progressive treatment of women and its blooming and participatory politics.
We declare a new Ireland, in which the state is focused not on the profits of financial investors, but the well-being of all citizens.
Behold a new Ireland! ‘Not only is another Ireland possible, she is on her way; On a quiet day I can hear her breathing’
